1. Eligibility

1.1 Pupils must be at least 17 years old to take driving lessons in accordance with UK law.

1.2 Pupils must hold a valid driving licence for the tuition vehicles used by Ash's Driving School.

1.3 Pupils must inform their Instructor immediately if they receive any endorsements on their driving licence during their lessons.

2. Cancellations

2.1 Pupils must provide a minimum of 48 hours’ notice to cancel a driving lesson.

2.2 Failure to provide the required notice will result in the pupil being charged the full lesson fee.

3. Payments

3.1 Payment for each lesson must be made in advance of the driving lesson.

3.2 Ash's Driving School does not accept cheques as a form of payment.

4. Lesson Rates

4.1 Ash's Driving School reserves the right to adjust the hourly lesson rate for new bookings.

4.2 Reasonable notice will be given to pupils prior to any rate changes.

5. Lesson Duration

5.1 The duration of each lesson must be agreed upon by the pupil and instructor in advance.

5.2 If the full lesson duration cannot be delivered due to reasons outside the instructor's control, the remaining time will be added to a subsequent lesson.

5.3 Pupils must ensure that any remaining time is documented in writing (e.g., in the pupil handbook or an agreed digital medium).

6. Instructor Discretion

6.1 Instructors reserve the right to reschedule lessons due to unforeseen circumstances, such as mechanical breakdowns.

6.2 An instructor may cancel a lesson if:

The pupil fails the DVSA eyesight check.

The instructor believes the pupil is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

7. Safety and Accompaniment

7.1 Children under the age of 15 are not permitted in the vehicle during lessons.

7.2 Friends or family members are not allowed to accompany the pupil during lessons unless pre-approved.

7.3 The instructor may take control of the vehicle if necessary to ensure road safety.

8. Liability

8.1 Ash's Driving School is not responsible for any errors made by pupils driving unaccompanied, before or after passing their test.

8.2 Instructors are not liable for accidents, injuries, or damage caused by a pupil's negligence during lessons.

9. Driving Tests

9.1 Driving tests must be arranged with the agreement of both the instructor and pupil.

9.2 Instructors have the right to withhold the use of their tuition vehicle for a driving test.

9.3 Pupils must pay the instructor directly for the use of the tuition vehicle during the test and for travel to/from the test centre. ( £160 is the current rate for car hire for test. This includes an hour lesson before test, anything more will be additional at hourly rate)

9.4 The DVSA test fee does not include the use of the tuition vehicle.

9.5 In the event of a road traffic accident during the test, the pupil is liable for any fines and the insurance excess (up to £250).

10. Complaints

10.1 Any complaints must be submitted in writing within 14 days of the incident.

11. Media Consent

11.1 With the pupil’s consent, instructors may take photographs/videos after their driving test.

11.2 Pupils may receive requests for customer reviews via SMS, email, or platforms such as Google or Trustpilot.

12. Introductory Offers

12.1 Introductory offers are valid only for novice learners.

13. Amendments

13.1 Ash's Driving School reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice.

13.2 Any changes will be posted on Ash's Driving School’s official website.
